9/11 Memorial Page

This page contains links to September 11, 2001 memorial sites on the web   Some of them were put up almost immediately after 9/11 others are of a more recent vintage. They attempt to capture the events of September 11, memorialize those who lost their lives and pay tribute to the emergency workers who gave so much providing aid and search and rescue assistance. Scroll down and find suggestions for group activities utilizing the theme of this page. Do you have other appropriate activities or sites that you would like to suggest? Remembering 9/11

"When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth
and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and
for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall.
Think of it ... always."
Mahatma Gandhi

The third anniversary of the September 11 tragedies is near and for many people this will be an especially difficult time.  Our thoughts and prayers are with them, may they feel supported and loved and may the memories they cherish of the love ones they miss remain fresh for them.

There are many web sites that are dedicated to the events of 9/11 and reflect the efforts of their creators to try and express the sometimes overwhelming feelings they were experiencing.  This page is a little web tour to some of those sites. There are many others and if you would like to send us a link to one we'll try to include it here and regularly update this page. E-mail the link to acw@therapyresourcesinc.com or visit our feedback page to send a link and info.

Activities

Take some time with the group to talk about loss, grief and mourning. Invite a grief counselor to speak with the group about this topic and how to help those who are grieving.

Have a special memorial service to remember those whose lives were lost and support those who must carry on without loved ones.

Talk about what people the world over have done to try and help and ask the group if they would like to participate in a program to help,  like Operation Christmas Child, a good example of doing a project for a cause.

"People will forget what you said, and people will forget
what you did, but people will never forget how you made
them feel."
